Kerenza Peacock began playing the violin in Ipswich at the age of three. At 22, she graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with First Class Honours. She was then loaned a Stradivarius violin worth £4 million by the Academy for a performance of the Mendelssohn Concerto.
Kerenza is first violin of the Pavao Quartet. Not many classical string quartets can claim to have played on the Radio 1 Chart Show Live the day after performing Ravel in the Wigmore Hall. But for the Pavão Quartet this was a typical weekend. This versatile ensemble has not only been highly-regarded in classical concert venues across the world for 10 years, but has enjoyed collaborations with renowned pop musicians. They have released 4 CDs, which are played on Classic FM, Radio 3 and Radio 2. Kerenza has also played with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in the Proms, recorded for films in Abbey Road, and led the band for many West End shows.
She has worked with singers including Paul McCartney, KanYe West, the Spice Girls, Noel Gallagher, Andrea Bocelli and Il Divo.
She has played on TV shows from the X- Factor to the Tweenies(!). In any spare moment, she goes to tap dance classes or knits.
